    Sorry guys....
    Hey I know its been a while. Sorry about that. We've been on the air and all, we've just gotten really busy and fallen behind here on LJ. So here are some things you might have missed:

    **Jon Kilgore, a good friend of ours and guitarist for Hallows Eve, will be making his first hometown apperance with Hallows Eve at Boo Radely's on Sept. 30th. If you can't wait that long, Jon & the guys will be playing at the Benchwarmer in Huntsville Aug 26th. They're part of Hellfire Manifest, a 2 day metal fest in H-ville starting Aug 25th. If you want more info feel free to check out the band's MySpace at www.myspace.com/hallowsevemusic or you can check my page as well wwww.myspace.com/djsuzy

    **Lynam will be opening for Poison and Cinderella tomorrow (Friday) night at the Verizon Wireless Music Center at 7pm. Tickets are still on sale at ticketmaster.com or you can just drive up there tomorrow, by tix at the gate and possibly get better seats than if you by them online. This is huge for the boys, go out & give 'em support if you can. Especially Dave Lynam. Poor guy was in a horrid car acciedent last week, feel asleep at the wheel, drove off a bank, flipped his SUV was thrown from the car and should, by all accounts, be dead. He's a lucky man to be alive today and he refuses to stop the shows. Even though this tough little drummer boys has a broken ankle among other broken bones, bruises, and sever gashes, he says the show will still go on. What a trooper. Always wear a seat belt though, he didn't and was thrown from the car, had he been wearing one, he probably would have escaped with only minor cuts & bruises.

    **This Friday will be the last "official" day I will be hosting a show on Fridays. After this I'll only be on Fridays occationally when sports doesn't need the time. You can still catch me, as always, on Saturdays with Casey for Double Shot 8pm-10pm. I will also be co-hosting The Metal Zone with Dave The Metal Guy on Fridays from 10pm-2am.

    **Special Edition of the Metal Zone on Sept 1st. Dave will be out of town for something fun. Jon Kilgore and I will be hosting the Zone, so tune in for all the metal craziness you can handle. Starts 10pm Friday night.

    I think that's all the announcements for now. I promise we'll be posting more frequently from now on. I've added a calendar of events on my MySpace page so that's another good way to keep up with the musical stuff we're endorsing. Hope you're all doing well. See you on the air...

    Yes, its a day late, I was busy!
    So here's the playlist from last night's Double Double Shot (yes its on twice, well ok, if you also count Friday nights from 8-10pm its 3 times, but normally that's just me so it doesn't count). Any way, Jon Kilgore from Hallow's Eve stopped by to pay me a visit, Dave the Metal Guy was also there, fun fun. Maybe eventually Casey will come back too! :) She's sick so its all good. Any way, here's the play list and all my happy little comments. ~Suzy

    1) Powerman 5000- Bombshell (It just feels like a show opener to me. I enjoy this song maybe more than I should, but who cares, just enjoy) ;)

    2) Lynam- Slave to the Machine (Title track from their new album which will hit stores worldwide next Tuesday, we'll be doing a special edition for that so be on the look out!)

    3) Lacuna Coil- Our Truth (Sometimes I don't like female vocalists, but it seems to be ok with this band. :) Its always fun to have a girl up front, isn't it?)

    4) Kidney Thieve- Before I'm Dead (One of my fave girl fronted bands. This song I can't help but sing along too, I hope you enjoy it too)

    5) 9volt Revolt- My Addiction (These guys have a new album planned to drop in August so keep an eye on that. Hopefully we'll have the advance copy in the next week or so and who knows maybe we'll even do a give away.)

    6) 18 Visions- Victim (Dave the Metal Guy tells me we should be getting their album any day now, I can't wait! I'm really wearing the sampler out here. Keep an eye on these guys, I think this new album is really going to put them in the public eye, they've been around for years, but this one I think may be the big one for them)

    7) Black Lable Society- Concrete Jungle (Fresh out of the mail and straight on to the air. Dave & Jon were demanding I play some "guy" metal and they were disappointed with this one. Should have listened to it before asking me to play it:-p )

    8)Coal Chamber- El CuCuy (On request for Jeremy. He heard it last Saturday and said he really wanted to hear it again so there it is.)

    9) Underoath- Its A Dangerous Business... (Yay for these guys, their album dropped last month and they are doing GREAT! Tours, media stops, everything seems to be working out for the Underoath boys. Wish I could get them on the show, will have to see what I can do)

    10) Trust Company- Downfall (Have to give love to the local boys from South AL.)

    11) Nine Inch Nails- Burn (Has to be in the top of my fave NIN songs. I really like the dark industrial background, and the lyrics, everyone can understand them and has dealt with it "This World Rejects Me..." Who hasn't felt that way?)

    12) Breaking Benjamin- Polyamourous (On request for Mike, and Dave knows all the words even though he's trying to make fun of it. If you know the words means you've listened to it with at least a little frequency.)

    13) Lamb Of God- Now You've Got Something To Die For (Fun stuff, its live, I'd like to hear the studio version. And Jon says this classifies as "guy metal")

    14) Marilyn Manson- Dope Show (Good stuff, always have to have Manson. Oh and if you were wondering what seperates "guy" metal from "chick" metal, Jon says if you can shake your ass to it, its "chick" metal. I will have to test this theory... ok, seems Manson, under Jon's rules, classifies as Chick metal. I wouldn't tell Manson that though)

    15) KoRn- Dead Bodies Everywhere (I *heart* KoRn, you know that. This song comes from their third album "Follow The Leader" which I have a special attachment to, this is the album that introduced me to KoRn in the first place, and it was really an accident. I'll explain on Friday's show)

    16) Tool- Skism (Requested and also my Favorite Tool song. I'm not sure why I don't get into alot of the Tool stuff, I think I just don't really enjoy Maynard's voice. I know, sacralige right? So sorry, but I do like at least one Tool song and here it is, glad to know you want to hear it too!)

    17) Coal Chamber- Dark Days (Had a caller practically beg for more Coal Chamber, who am I to deny them their Coal Chamber double dose? Plus this is my fave CC song)

    18) Throwdown- Brun (One of Casey's favorites)

    19) Cold- Just Got Wicked (do not be fooled, their whole album does NOT sound like this, I feel for that. The rest of the album is like semi-goth rock ballads. Which is cool if you like that sort of thing, but its not my cup of tea)

    20) System of a Down- Chop Suey (on request, look at all the requests! Keep 'em coming guys!)

    21) David Dramain- Forsaken (I really like this track, I think David was the right vocalist for this particular song)

    22) Deftones- Minerva (On request, guy couldn't remember the band, only the song. Luckily I knew exactly what he was talking about and he was very greatful. No Problem, that's just my job :) Glad I could help out.)

    23) Nine Inch Nails- Head Like a Hole (because I didn't get to enjoy Burn earlier I decided I would make my own request and play another NIN song for me. :) It pays to be the DJ)

    24) Chimiria- Nothing Remains (Always a fun, dark band. I like 'em)

    25) Boy Hits Car- I'm A Cloud (I'm gonna have to check on these guys. I hope they haven't given up completely, they're a good band with a different sound. You can check out their page at www.boyhitscar.com Enjoy)

    So that's it for this week. Friday and maybe Saturday I'll be giving away Misitry tix so tune in for details! Friday 8-10pm CST and Saturday 8-10pm CST Rock On!

    Oh woe is me!
    Its single shot tonight, Casey's too blue to be here, think nice thoughts about her so she feels better!

    Powerman5000- Bombshell (Ok, I played this last night, but one of my friends was upset that he didn't get to hear it, so I played it again, plus I like it so there it is)

    Limp Bizkit- Break Stuff (I like to break stuff, but most of the time it happens unintentionally, oh well, this is a fun song to jump around and sing along with!)

    A Dozen Furies- Wind Me Up (Lots of energy in this one, but its aggressive energy which makes for one hell of a metal song!)

    9Volt Revolt- My Addiction (I *heart*these guys, check 'em out on myspace. They should have a new album dropping next month I believe, we're hoping to have them on the show around then.)

    System Of A Down- Chop Suey (I remember rocking out to this in high school, it was only a couple of years ago, good stuff)

    Nine Inch Nails- Closer (Wow, this was GREAT live! Trent you almost got molested, yes by me. So sexy. Mmmmmm.... Ok, more metal.... hang on, remembering the show, give me a minute.... wow... um, ok this is getting weird.)

    Tool-Skism (My favorite Tool song, hope you like it too. I really loved this video as well, very creative)

    Taproot- Poem (I used to hate Taproot, I think they've grown on me)

    Deftones- Lucky You (For my sweet Casey, feel better!)

    Stone Sour- Through The Glass (HEY This isn't metal like the package said! BOO!)

    Static X- Permanence (nice, I had not heard this song before but I like it!)

    18 Visions- Victim (They're on the Warped Tour this year, which isn't coming around here, pity. Their album drops July 18)

    Lynam- What Is This? (Love the local boys, this is one of their more hardcore efforts. Support these guys. You can catch them {and me} at City Stages next weekend, they'll be playing the "homegrown" stage.)

    Marilyn Manson- Dope Show ("We're all stars now" why yes I am a star. :) I am such a rockstar and one day you will all see. Haha, ok back to reality now and on with more metal!)

    Trust Co- Downfall (Again with the local love. These guys are from South AL and I love 'em their worth a listen if you've never experienced them before)

    Trivium- A Gunshot To The Head Of Trepedation (Wow, these kids are really kids. The singer is 18 and was born in Japan before moving to Florida. Good job for such young guys)

    Brides of Destruction- Shut The F*** Up! (Don't you just love screaming that on occation? I do. These guys are a band full of all stars, Nicki Sixx, Tracii Gunns, and Kris Kohls {he's the drummer from Adema} make up the main line up. Their album's not bad, its called "Here comes the Bride")

    Staind- Mudshovel (Its been a while since I've played this one, its not bad I enjoy the riffs in this song)

    Systematic- Not Like You (no of course not, I also choose to be indivudual. :) Any way, still working on find more about these guys. Do you know how ridiculous it is to google "systematic" yeah it sucks)

    Kidney Thieves- Crazy (I love this cover of crazy, its really good)

    Incubus- Pardon Me (Wow, this song came out in '99 I feel so OLD! But its still really good so here it is on our show)

    Hatebreed- I will Be Heard (These guys have a new album dropping August 29th so be on the look out! They're currently on tour in Europe with bands like KoRn and System Of A Down, wow!)

    God Forbid- The End of the World (I like these guys, they fit in with Hatebreed with the screaming vocals, very nice)

    Drycell- Slip Away (These guys have a song on the Queen of the Damned ST (called "Body Crumbles") that was their first appearance. It wasn't till after that that they released their first album.)

    OK that's it. No Double Shot next week more than likely. Sorry I'll probably be at City Stages in B'ham and Casey will be in Dallas, so look for us the following week. :) Rock On!!!

    Oops
    So we forgot to update last week, sorry about that. Lynam was GREAT on Friday night though. Very cool group of guys, Casey & I are in love. ;) LYNAM- I demand you all go check them out now! They're on myspace or you can visit www.lynamsucks.com Yay, ok so this week:

    1) KoRn- Coming Undone {This song is a rock out, kickin' ass type song. We love it and we love KoRn, so what better way to start the show?}

    2) 18 Visions- Black & Bruised {These guys are new, very loveable if you're into the metal lovin' like we are. :) Good new metal band, hope to hear more from them. We'll keep ya posted!}

    3) HedPE- Other Side {Alot slower and more alternative than I had expected, oops}

    4) Hatebreed- To The Threshold {Hatebreed makes me feel like kicking someone's ass, they're just that kinda band and I love it! RAR!}

    5) Brides of Destruction- Shut the F*** Up! {I have their album and will scan through it ASAP to bring you more from this fun band. :) Lemme know if you have any favorite tracks}

    6) Tool- Stinkfist {For my lovely co-host Casey since she loves these guys so much}

    7) Rage Against The Machine- People of the Sun {Its a fun song, but have you noticed how short it is? Its like 2 and a half minutes, farly short for a metal song. Its cool, its still really good. COME BACK TO US ZACK!!!!!}

    8) Taproot- Fault {These guys are melodic metal I think, I like it. Its not based on screaming or something like that, this guy actually sings which is cool for a band like his}

    9) Nine Inch Nails- Physical (You're So) {Don't forget, their concert in B'ham is this Tuesday. I'm SO excited!!!! can't wait! I'll sneak another NIN song in before the nights over I'm sure. ;) See ya at the show}

    10) Systematic- Breakable {They sound like someone I've heard before, but I can't decide who I think it is. Weird, right? Not as weirs as Casey sitting in the office watching WoW crack videos instead of hanging out and rocking out in the studio. Yeah, she's a nerd and she sucks}

    11) System of A Down- Revenga {I've never heard this one before, so we'll try it out. Its hard to be disappointed by System though.}

    12) As I Lay Dying- Through Stuggle {Do you believe it? These guys, as hard as the sound, are a Christian band. Its ok, its not preachy though so I'll allow it. OOh fun time, gonna talk with out Casey since she isn't paying attention.}

    13) Marilyn Manson- Dispossible Teens {You know how I adore Manson, so how could we not have one of his works on the show. I love this guy, what's he doing now? Anyone know?}

    14) Kingdom of Sorrow- Buried In Black {They're on the HBB disc and the band is composed of Jamey from Hatebreed, Kirk from Crowbar, and Derek of Seemless, we'll all find out together whether or not we like it.}

    15)Killswitch Engage- A Bid Farewell {Its a live song, but its the only KE song I have with me. So enjoy}

    16) Boy Hits Car- Man Without Skin {LOVE these guys. They sound so different, I *heart* their music, makes me happy. Try www.boyhitscar.com and see what you think}

    17) 9volt Revolt- Disconnected {The boys from KY have become a staple on our show, I love 'em, hope you do to.}

    18) Slipknot- Before I Forget {I say that phrase at least 4 times a day, I forget alot. Go figure. I took my muscle relaxer (don't worry, I really did hurt myself and a Dr perscribed it) and I can tell its kicking in. Watch out, I'm gonna be out of it, adversarial, and some times incoherient. So sorry}

    19) Nine Inch Nails- The Hand That Feeds {Again, SO ready for Tuesday. I had to slip in another NIN, I *heart* Trent and this is my show so I'll do whatever I feel like, sorta}

    20) Deftones- Bloody Cape {You know we did not play a single Deftones song last week and we were on Friday and Saturday. Go figure. So I know you're all in withdrawl and DTs are a bitch so here they are}

    21) Drycell- Slip Away {These guys were on the Queen of the Damned soundtrack with a different song so I thought I'd give this one a try. We'll see... Hey, they're pretty good, I like it! YAY!)

    22) Chimira- Dead Inside {Not bad, thought I'd play a Chimira song that has never been on the show before so, here it is}

    23) Earshot- Wait {See comment for #21, same story here.... Not bad at all, reminds me a little of the deftones on a little harder}

    24) Godsmack- Keep Away {Its from the "first" album (which was really the second, the first was just not as well known) and I like it. Makes me think about High School.}

    1) Marylin Manson- Dope Show {A fun soung to start off the night consdering how pretty Casey and I are. Enjoy lovelys}

    2) Hatebreed- To the Threshold {A very good band, so far we've not encountered a Hatebreed song that we do not like. That's a strech considering most bands have at least one or two lemons, but no, these guys are good.}

    3) KoRn- Twisted Transister {You knew there would be a KoRn song sooner rather than later. :) What can we say, we love these guys. You know there is a street in their hometown of Bakersfield CA called KoRn Row in honor of them. Good to know right?}

    4)Rammstien- Feuer Frie {Yay German songs that rock!}

    5) Killswitch Engage- A Bid Farwell {No they aren't going any where, they suggest that. Any way, good band pointed out to us by one of Casey's WoW-crack friends}

    6) Godsmack- Awake {Any song that starts out with a guy growling "Rah!" works for me. :) Sully Erna you rock, your band rocks, its all good. This song is fabulous!}

    7) Coal Chamber- Dark Days {CC is pretty popular for us, I really like them, Casey really likes them, listeners seem to at least be ok with them. So its all good for everyone.}

    8) KMFDM- Juke Joint Jezabel {HEY A REQUEST! Yeah a listener called in to make a request FINALLY! This one was for Josh. Nice pick man, we were dancing around the studio and you know how hot it is when two metal girls dance around a radio studio... right...}

    9) Lamb Of God- Now You've Got Something to Die For {A live version from the Headbanger's Ball Revenge CD. Its a wonderful album for all metal heads. Fun band. I really like the title of the song, makes me giggle}

    11) Nine Inch Nails- Physical {Casey and I both really love this song. I'll be physical with you Trent! LoL. Metal love for Mr Reznor.}

    12) Deftones FT Todd Maynard- Passenger {Oh great, Casey managed to get two of her favorite vocals in one track. Too bad I'm not a big fan of either group. Nah, its all good. Lots of metal kids love Tool and Deftones... just not really this one... oh well, not bad}

    13) KoRn- Blind {HA! KoRn song #2 of the night. We love these guys. We'll play them as often as we want and you can't do anything about it. But if you do want to play your own stuff and be a DJ email me at WVUAPD@sa.ua.edu}

    1)HateBreed- Another Day Another Vedetta (Ok, we're pissed and this song is very RAR! So yeah, it makes us feel much better. Hatebreed is an awesome angry day band)

    2) KMFDM- Juke Joint Jezebel (Casey put this in, sounds kinda 80s-esque. Cool)

    3)System Of A Down- Bounce (Yes bounce with us! System is a great band)

    4) Thrice- all That's Left (Thrice, not as angry as we had hoped, but rock.)

    5) Pillar- Open Your Eyes (This is a good rock band. Maybe not exactly metal, but rock.)

    6)Systematic- Breakable (Pretty good, we keep meaning to look more of them up, but we forget things sometimes. But they're good, look 'em up if you wanna.)

    7) Rob Zombie - I'm Your Boogie Man (Rob is a good Boogie Man, yay Rob Zombie!!!)

    8) Deftones- Bloody Cape (I think this may be Casey's fave Deftones song. She plays it every chance she gets. But its good, so its ok. :) YAY!)

    9) Rage Against The Machine- Calm Like A Bomb (ZACK COME BACK TO US!!! We all miss Rage and Zack DeLaRocha)

    10) Trust Co- Falling Apart (Semi-local band. They're from Montgomery. Surpisingly that is also where Hazel is at. She posted in her LJ a few days ago that she would be taking the bus to work, we've heard nothing since, so if you see a girl on the bus who looks metal-ish please direct her off the bus somewhere she is firmilar with, we are worried. )

    11) Tool- Stinkfist (Casey *hearts* Tool, me, not so much. Go figure)

    12) KoRn- Coming Undone (Finally! A RAR song! Casey and I both love KoRn and Jonathan Davis more that we like chocolate and that's a big statement. So yeah, we love 'em alot. Jonathan's just got something about him that attracts us to him, like moths to the light bulb on your front porch. Its too late at night for me {Suzy} to be typing this. So sorry for the confusion)

    13) Disturbed- Voices (Off their first, and thus far, best album)

    14) NIN (sort of)- Closer To Mario (Its a mix of "Closer" and Mario Bros music and Sound FX. Very Very funny. Look it up if you want, found it filed under "Nine Inch Gombas- Closer To Mario". I like it)

    15) Static X- The Only (That guy's hair is pretty cool)

    16) Limp Bizkit- Break Stuff (And who doesn't like to break stuff? We do!!!! "You don't really know why, But want justify, Rippin' someone's head off")

    17) Jay Gordon- Slept So Long (Jay Gordon's voice + Jonathan Davis' lyrics & music= DAMN GOOD MUSIC! This is off the Queen of the Damned sound track, and we love it)

    18)POD- School Of Hard Knocks (We couldn't remember if we liked this song so we firgured what the hell.)

    19) Mudvayne- Trapped In The Wake Of A Dream (Aren't we all...)

    20) Sevendust -Dead Set (We found a 7dust CD we didn't know was here and decided to play something from it, enjoy)

    21) Godsmack- Awake (Yep, I am... Oh thats not a question is it? Oh well, I Love Godsmack. Sully's voice gets me every time)

    22) Cold- Just Got Wicked (Very cool song. The lead singer is bald. You don't see that much in metal bands. What ever works, guess its more streamlined for the headbanging)

    23) Saliva- Click Click Boom (Yay for things going BOOM! Its been a while since I've heard these guys so rock on)

    24) KoRn- Swallow (Yeah we already played one KoRn song. What about it? You wanna make something out of it. I didn't think so. Casey and I could so kick your ass.)

    25) NIN- Terrible Lie (Yay for Trent. Boo for being lied to. We've all felt like this at some point. "hey God, why are you doing this to me? am i not living up to what i'm supposed to be?")
